being a hero doesn't pay much

for some reason my brother brought up buffy (the vampire slayer) working at some fast food place. he thought it was an undercover thing until i corrected him that she did it because she needed the money. (i won't spoil as to why) then he said; "every superhero isn't bruce wayne." which got me to thinking; what are the day jobs of superheroes?
the big ones (batman, superman) everyone knows, but what about the others? i looked these up on wikipedia (i know, not the best source) & are the comic book canon.

superman/clark kent--reporter for the daily planet

batman/bruce wayne--billionaire

spider-man/peter parker--first a high school teacher, then a freelance photographer

daredevil/matt murdock--lawyer (in the movie he does a lot of pro bono work, so who know how well he does money-wise. i don't know if it the same in the comic world)

elektra/elektra natchios (seems to go back & forth between good and bad)--assassin

wonder woman/diana prince--in the '60 the character owned "a mod boutique" in the tv show she was secretary to major steve trevor

iron man/tony stark--industrialist(a very wealthy one it appears)

the hulk/bruce banner--physicist

professor x/charles xaiver--came from a wealthy family, but worked as a geneticist and psychologist.
i don't feel like looking up the dozens of x-men, but appears that xaiver supports them. "the least he can do, considering they risk their lives on his orders." my brother said. (but i recall that beast/henry mccoy is a biochemist & jean gray is a doctor of some sort. geneticist, i think)

green lantern:
there have been several; the first, alan scott was a railroad engineer. next was hal jordan who was a test pilot. john stewart was an architect. guy gardner; a social welfare caseworker, dealing with prison inmates and their rehabilitation. later he was a teacher for children with disabilities. Kyle Rayner was a freelance graphic artist.

this barely scrapes the surface of "superheros" there's the avengers group, the fantastic 4, the teen titans & i forget how many others. not to mention all of the "super villains."

Ah. Well, it has been a while.

The comic strip, which still runs in a few papers, still has him married.
