Welcome!

Wow, I see people signed up. Welcome to the community. It's a place for those of us of the female and geeky persuasions to talk about our interests without fear of being mocked.

I'm [personal profile] kageneko and I'm a gamer girl with a love of photography and web design and building my own computers. You?

Is this thing on? (battle-cry of the non-geek!)

Hi, all- I'm Sunfell, and I'm a big-time geek. My favorite things include computers, blogging, building and maintaining online communities, science fiction, gardening, food, wine, books, and a bucket-load of other stuff. I believe that you can't have too many books, but when they start attacking you, it's time to either cull them or move.

I know what you mean about being mocked- guys tend to have two reactions to geeky gals- they either run away, or glomp onto you like you're a shiny new gadget with !!titties!!. Phooey. I prefer to be treated like a human being.

I hope this community grows and thrives. BTW- I found this comm by searching 'geek' in the interests. You might want to advertise it on [site community profile] dw_community_promo if you haven't already!

How could I not subscribe!

I have a love for all things technology (call me an early adopter).

I found this comm with the keyword "comics" -- a hobby I'm a huge fan of.

Hey! I'm an astronomer by day and SF/fantasy fan by night (or maybe those should be the other way around...), so I don't come across many women in either circle!

Hello! I like the idea of a community like this very much. I'm [personal profile] eponymous. And I'm pretty awful at introductions or listing things I'm interested in... SciFi television series, social networking theory, knitting like a fiend, delighting over math, devouring books, and lots of other things.

Also, yesterday I created the community [community profile] comics for the discussion of comics. (:

Hello, I'm a science fiction fan and a book geek.

Eheh, I think my username gave me away.. ^^;

Hello, my name is [personal profile] geekmama and I am a geek. *support group style ftw* I didn't actually find this community myself - my partner found it looking for geeky communities of his persuasion and immediately linked it to me. Yes, linked it to me. (We were sitting in the same room last night - he on the PC desktop and me on my Mac laptop.)

I'm not hardcore into math, science or coding/programming/really smart computer things. I'm really much more of a general internet junkie who keeps up to date on most memes, reads a lot of webcomics and has geek related interests like anime/manga, fantasy/scifi books and video games.

We (partner and I) are into our fifth month of producing a Spawn and are in the process of picking out comics to read to Spawn at night once they've popped.

Hi, I'm a web developer who prefers writing PHP to interacting with people. I'm married to a systems analyst and the huge concentration of geek means we got a kid with a ridiculously high IQ and Asperger Syndrome, a kid who scores as gifted on every test devised, but refuses to talk to anyone, and a kid who is the normal kind of smart. The normal one is blonde - we think it counteracted the worst of the geek.

I... am probably a fairly low-grade geek. Or at least a fairly inept one. But I geek out over tv shows, and books (mostly urban fantasy, some sci-fi, and a ton of crime shows just because) and I spend all my time on my laptop on different blogs and such. (And I just started reading comic books a year or two ago, after a childhood completely lacking in them. There's a whole new world out there! With lots of spandex!)

Hi everyone! I'm a software engineer by day (and sometimes by night), and a lifelong fan of both science and science fiction. Definitely have always been a geek.

I'm a pretty big geek. I've been around computers my whole life and plan to keep it that way. I'm majoring in computer science, and want to grow up to be a programmer.

I enjoy science fiction television shows, video games (mainly RPGs, but I'll play almost anything), and comics. =D

I'm [personal profile] vae, like my gadgets, useless at video games, software over hardware, online rper and sci-fi fantasy fan in tv/film/book/comic/graphic novel formats. Yes, I also go to conventions and have fabulous times at them.

Also work as a front end developer.
