When Logan and Brooke Fernandes got married in 2003, it was a low-key affair with just family and a few close friends present. Ten years and two kids later, Logan wanted to do something really special for their anniversary, so he surprised his wife with the geeky dream wedding they couldn't afford when they first tied the knot.

The couple, who were high school sweethearts, originally bonded over a shared love of sci-fi shows and video games. “A lot of the shows we like, like 'Firefly' and 'Doctor Who,' we fell in love with as they came on and we discovered them together,” Logan explained.

Only a little over 6 hours left on auctions! Starting bid prices are super-cheap: $ 0.50 USD! (Prices may rise quickly due to bidding!)

I'm selling this DS Lite and assorted games because I get rather motion-sick while using the Nintendo DS! As a result, I've had the system sitting around for years. Rather than have them gather dust, I've decided to list these items on eBay.

Nintendo DS Lite White Handheld System on eBay

Nintendo Game Boy Advance Game: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (2002) on eBay

Nintendo DS Game: Animal Crossing: Wild World (2005) on eBay

Nintendo DS Game: Diddy Kong Racing DS (2007) on eBay

Nintendo DS Game: Super Mario 64 DS (2004) on eBay

Go here to see all my eBay listings.

Shipping: I can combine shipping if you buy multiple items.

Shipping Outside USA: The shipping price of $3.75 is for shipping within the continental United States. If you're outside of the country, I'd go and get the price from the post office, and then let you know how much it would cost. :)

Feedback and Returns: I have good eBay feedback and a long-established account. Unfortunately, I can't accept returns because I'm leaving the country!

they're up to season 3 now and the best of the season, some would argue the best of TNG, is the best of both worlds. but since it was an end of the season cliffhanger they had to include part 2, even though that's the first episode of season 4. i don't know if they'll have another episodes from season 3 & 4 later to make up for it.

april 25 is the day! check out the site for more details & theater locations

We already knew President Barack Obama was a nerd but this…this solidifies his place in our intergalactic records. Remember when we reported on that petition someone started to get the United States government to fund the building of a Death Star ala Star Wars? We all had a good laugh, knew it wouldn’t happen, and assumed they wouldn’t even get a response. They did. While it may not be the one petitioners were hoping for, it’s probably the single best response to anything, ever.
Petitions submitted to WhiteHouse.gov need to get 25,000 signatures before the administration is required to respond. The Death Star submission got almost 10,000 more. So what about that reply?
First of all, it was titled “This Isn’t the Petition Response You’re Looking For,” so we knew right off the bat this was going to be good. The author of the reply, Paul Shawcross, Chief of the Science and Space Branch at the White House Office of Management and Budget, goes on to break down the most important reasons why they decided not to build a Death Star for the U.S

ABC entertainment president Paul Lee says he’s going to take a look at the long-gestating Star Wars live-action TV series now that the Disney deal to acquire Lucasfilm is complete.
“We’d love to do something with Lucasfilm, we’re not sure what yet,” Lee exclusively told EW. “We haven’t even sat down with them. We’re going to look at [the live-action series], we’re going to look at all of them, and see what’s right. We weren’t able to discuss this with them until [the acquisition] closed and it just closed. It’s definitely going to be part of the conversation.”
Even many working in Hollywood don’t realize a live-action Star Wars TV series has been sitting on the shelf the past few years. The project was commissioned by longtime Lucasfilm producer Rick McCallum, who enlisted writers such as Battlestar Galactica‘s Ron Moore and swore them to NDA secrecy on the plot details (more on the show’s storyline below). Fifty scripts were written. McCallum once called the scripts the most “provocative, bold and daring material that we’ve ever done.”
And then … nothing.

according to the linked story in the quoted paragraph, it could cost 4 or 5 million per episode. yikes! makes terra nova at about 1 million seem cheap, doesn't it. i guess they could cut cost by eliminating a lot of the special effects or reusing stuff like establishing shots of planets and cities. also by building sets that could be reused a lot just by redecorating them a little to be used for multiple places.

The GALILEO needs you!

Welcome to the USS Galileo, a Star Trek roleplay set in the year 2389. This is an all original character cast crewing the Nova-class science vessel Galileo, on her missions throughout the galax. We are looking for writers to help take up the mantle at any one of our open posts. We have dozens of open positions available for the picking, so make sure to check us out! This roleplay is for anyone who is interested in the Trek continuity, who enjoys writing and active participation in a roleplay. This roleplay uses the very intuitive Nova software to make writing between multiple people simple and fun. If you love Star Trek, roleplaying and writing, the Galileo is for you.

These are the voyages of the starship Galileo. Her mission, to explore strange, new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations.
To study spacial rifts, wormholes, and time fluxes. To develop and test the latest cutting-edge technologies.
To observe and catalog new life forms...even though they might be slimy and look kind of disgusting....
To boldly go where no research vessel has gone before!

The Walt Disney Co. has acquired Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion in cash and stock and announced a new Star Wars movie to be released in 2015.

Kathleen Kennedy, current co-chair of Lucasfilm, will become Lucasfilm's president, reporting to Walt Disney Studios chair Alan Horn as part of the stock and cash transaction. Disney is paying approximately half the price in cash and will issue 40 million shares of stock, the company said Tuesday in a statement.

Kennedy will serve as executive producer on new Star Wars feature films, with the franchise's creator and Lucasfilm founder George Lucas, 68, serving as creative consultant. There are plans to release a new Star Wars film every two or three years.

Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season One will arrive on Blu-ray on July 24, and the restored episodes are so pristine and of such cinematic quality that they not only belong on movie screens, they will, in fact, play on movie screens. Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th Anniversary Event, a one-night-only, in-theater celebration is set for Monday, July 23, at theaters around the country. NCM Fathom Events, CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution will present two of TNG’s most-popular episodes, “Where No One Has Gone Before” and “Datalore,” both handpicked by longtime Trek experts Mike and Denise Okuda.

The first 'Star Trek' conventions were spawned from a letter-writing campaign, spearheaded by a largely female group of fans, to keep the struggling show alive. While their efforts kept the original show going for just one more season ('Trek' was on the air from 1966 to 1969), the Trekkie army grew by the thousands. In this gallery, costume designer Angelique Trouvere, a Trekkie from way back (at right, sporting a "Deela" costume at a 1976 convention), offers a glimpse into the wild, weird and women-centric conventions of the early 1970s. Set your phasers on funky, as we warp nostalgic in this "Star Trek" family album.

the photos.

it's kind of interesting that it was mostly women in the beginning. because they way some "experts" talk, you'd think it was always men & women are now just getting into it. not just star trek, but sci-fi in general.
